How Smart Lock Patio Door works (Bluetooth Model Access and Security)
A) How does the automatic lock work? Is my door secured when I leave the house?
When the Bluetooth connection is lost, it locks automatically. So you can always be sure your patio doors are locked when you're not at home.

After this, the UNLOCK button cannot be unlocked. Your door is thus secured against uninvited guests getting out of the door.
When you get home, your smartphone and lock will automatically connect and you can use the UNLOCK button.

B) Is there a way to disable the lock so it doesn't lock automatically?
The lock can be set in a stage we call "Homelock". Here the lock will not lock when the Bluetooth connection is lost. The UNLOCK button is always active, so you can lock and unlock directly on the lock. You can also unlock via your app. See app guide, click here
C) Can I use Smart Lock Patio door with an external handle and unlock from the outside?
Yes, if you have an external handle on your door, you can unlock it from the outside with the app.

D) How many users can be connected to a lock?
The number of users is unlimited. You are authorized as a user by entering a 5-digit code for each lock. The code is chosen by the person installing the lock.
E) How many smartphones can be connected to a lock?
Up to 4 phones can be connected at a time. Regardless of which phone is connected to the locks, everyone can operate the lock via the UNLOCK button on the lock or use the app.
Q) How many locks can be connected to a smartphone?
There is no limit to the number of locks that can be connected.
G) How can others access my lock?
Anyone can access your locks if they have the code. You choose the code when you install the lock. The selected code can be seen in your app.
H) How long do the batteries last in the lock? And am I warned when they are running low?
Battery life is approx. 2 years. Yes, you are warned via your app well before the batteries need to be changed. If the batteries reach a critically low level, the lock will not lock.
I) What is the security like when I have an external handle, can't the lock bee hacked?
The code you choose during installation consists of 5 digits. So if you don't know the code, there are 100,000 combinations. If you guess wrong, the lock will disconnect the Bluetooth connection for 20 seconds. If you try again with the wrong code, you have to wait 1 minute before the lock will connect to a smartphone. If you enter the wrong code for the third time, you have to wait 2 minutes. We call this a time-out. This time-out increases every time you enter a wrong code. If you guess wrong 14 times, you have a time-out of more than 3 days. In other words, you have to wait more than 3 days before the lock allows a smartphone to connect. However, you can always remove the batteries to reset the time-out. Note that to remove the batteries, you must be inside the house.
J) What makes Secuyou Smart Lock different from other products?
Secuyou Model Access is the only product on the market that gives you keyless access from the outside. You should choose Model Access if you have or want to install an external handle. Then you can use your app to unlock from the outside and share your code with others.
If you want to use Homey PRO, choose Model Access.
Secuyou Model Security is a cheaper version than Model Access. However, it does not allow for outside access via your App. So you should choose Model Security if you don't have or want an external handle. Should you later change your mind, you can always upgrade the lock with a software update if you want access from the outside (this update only works with iOS / Apple phones).
Secuyou Model Matter is used with your favorite Smart Home Apps, such as Apple Home, Google Home Samsung SmartThings, Alexa etc. You must use a HUB with Thread Border Router that connects to Smart Lock Matter .
